Episode 51: Pandemic Normal?
Episode Summary
In 2020 birth professionals were all running on the same fuel of urgency and shifting policy, trying to keep ourselves and our families safe while continuing to serve our clients through a novel virus and a real pandemic. By the time we recorded this episode in 2022, the urgency had thinned and the ground was shifting again.
We talk about what was going back to normal, what was not, and what felt unsafe to call normal too soon. The grief, the relief, the bargains we struck with ourselves to keep working through it, and the questions our clients were now asking that they had not asked in 2020 and 2021.
A reflective listen for anyone who lived through that stretch as a birth professional, and a useful conversation about how the pandemic permanently changed parts of the work.
