Episode 4: Special Geek Interview with Robin Elise Weiss
Episode Summary
One of us had to go first, so Hillary turned the mic on Robin. This is the early episode where listeners get to meet Robin Elise Weiss as a person, not a CV. We wanted you to know who is on the other end of these conversations before we asked you to trust us with hundreds of hours of yours.
Robin was the 20th doula certified by DONA International, trained by Penny Simkin herself in the late 1980s. From those early days through more than 1,500 births, her path has covered a five state radius out of Louisville, doula training and trainer training, a public health doctorate, and a long stretch of working at the policy and education level. Hillary asks her about all of it.
You will also hear Robin’s long view on what has actually changed in the birth scene, locally and nationally, and what has not. If you are newer to The Birth Geeks and want to know whose voice you are listening to, start here.
